Part and Assembly Design
Mechanical System Architect
Project Lead
Product Development Management
My role varies from project to project. I am equally comfortable leading teams and projects as I am rounding out a team as a design engineer, or even working solo on projects where I can handle the entire load.
If you visit my Portfolio pages you can see what roles I played on various projects, but basically I am a product design engineer and am well versed in every aspect of the PD process. Typically, I am asked to either be a lead role or an engineering and design role.
As a design engineer it is my commitment to create part and assembly designs that are a merge of the needs of my clients, their customers, and of the manufacturing processes that will bring these products to life. Satisfying all of these needs is crucial to making a successful project and product.
As a project leader I focus day to day on removing barriers so the project team can work to the best of their abilities. I have been blessed to work with many talented and hard working engineers, industrial designers, managers, marketing specialists and all the other disciplines that it takes to create a great product. When I am in the lead role, in addition to setting the vision and level of expectations for the team, it is simply my job to help everybody reach their potential on a daily basis. A great day is one where everybody on the team knows exactly what they are supposed to do, has the tools and information they need to execute their role, and feels accomplished at the end of the day.
I have worked on projects for Microsoft, Intel, Tektronix, Panasonic Aviation, Fluke, Talyst, Tether Tech, Solius, Codonics, Zoll Medical, Welch Allyn, Lavry Engineering, and a host of other companies.
